Uber partners with Key Food Stores to offer delivery

Uber and Key Food Stores Co-op have announced a partnership for grocery delivery for over 300 stores across the Northeast and Florida.

This move aims to give customers more convenient options for shopping at their local supermarkets and is part of Uber Eat’s wider business strategy.

The partnership builds on the delivery platform’s ongoing investment in grocery and retail as the business expands its footprint with national and regional supermarket brands.

Customers will be able to shop in participating stores across Key Food’s banners of supermarkets, which include Key Food, Food Universe, SuperFresh, and Food Dynasty.

Shoppers can access a wide range of fresh produce, meat, seafood, pantry staples, and more with scheduled delivery options.

Prashant Garg, head of North America at Uber Eats, said: “Key Food’s stores understand the neighborhoods they serve, and bringing these retailers to Uber Eats gives customers greater access to the local grocery selection they know and rely on.

“Whether they’re scheduling a grocery order on the way home from work or need an ingredient they forgot at the store, this gives shoppers more choice in where they shop for groceries and more flexibility in how they get them.”

The supermarket was founded in Brooklyn in 1937 and is a local supplier throughout the Northeast and Florida.

This partnership is currently open to eligible Key Food Co-op stores that are interested in joining the online delivery platform’s marketplace.

Dean Janeway, CEO of Key Food Store Co-op said: “Our members are the foundation of the Co-op, with deep roots in their communities and lasting relationships with the customers they serve.

“Our partnership with Uber Eats is a strategic step in evolving how we serve our customers, expanding our digital footprint, supporting our members’ growth, and making it more convenient for shoppers to access their neighborhood Key Food stores.”
