Boscov Department store has announced a new technology partnership to modernize the store’s e-commerce fulfillment operations.
The new partnership aims to drive more efficiency across its store network to deliver an enhanced customer experience.
The department store chain teamed up with Manhattan’s ActiveOrder to consolidate inventory across its stores so the business can better execute and optimize e-commerce fulfillment.
The new feature will bring order management, store fulfillment, and customer service onto a single native cloud platform, which will help ensure that the items being promised during order capture are delivered.
This move aims to ensure the customer promise is met while boosting productivity, visibility, and customer service across the stores.
Bob Howell, EVP and chief sales officer at Manhattan Associates said: “Boscov’s has a proud history of really knowing their customers and communities. To keep delivering on that promise, they need a platform that is just as responsive, efficient, and customer-centric.
“With Manhattan, Boscov’s will gain real-time insight into inventory across all their stores, so every order can be sourced and fulfilled in the most efficient way possible for their customer and business at large.”
Additionally, the department store chain plans to better utilize its capacity in stores to simplify IT complexity and create a foundation for a more unified customer experience in-store and online.
The technology’s implementation will focus on driving higher output and inventory accuracy at Boscov’s stores while allowing flexible fulfillment options.
Jim Boscov, chairman and CEO at Boscov’s said: “Boscov’s has always been differentiated on value, assortment, and service. Partnering with Manhattan allows us to extend that promise into our receiving, fulfillment, and customer service operations.
“By unifying how we allocate and fulfill inventory across our stores, we can keep products closer to customers, reduce out-of-stocks, and deliver a smoother omnichannel experience across our stores.”
