Walmart is adding weight management support for GLP-1 users to its Better Care Services platform, as it deepens its push into integrated digital healthcare.
Launched in January 2026, Better Care Services acts as a central hub connecting customers to third-party healthcare providers. The platform now includes services tailored to those using or considering GLP-1 medications, which are increasingly popular for weight management.
Walmart already offers access to a range of GLP-1 treatments through its pharmacy network, including newer oral options such as orforglipron, available via insurance or cash-pay pricing.
The latest update broadens support beyond medication, incorporating services across fitness, nutrition and virtual care. These include offerings from Aaptiv, Berry Street, Curai Health, Twin Health and WeightWatchers’s Wheel programme.
Prescription fulfilment remains anchored in Walmart Pharmacy, with integrations into external programmes such as LillyDirect.
The platform also links users to Walmart’s Nutrition Hub, powered by its Everyday Health Signals system, which provides personalised dietary guidance for eligible Medicare Advantage and Medicaid members.
In parallel, Walmart is launching a redesigned GLP-1-focused digital destination on its e-commerce site. From July 2026, eligible Medicare Part D users will also gain access to certain GLP-1 treatments through a temporary initiative known as the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge.
Senior VP Kevin Host said the goal is to simplify what is often a fragmented care journey by combining medication access with lifestyle and clinical support in a single ecosystem.
Walmart plans to continue adding providers and tools to the platform, positioning Better Care Services as a long-term growth area that complements its pharmacy footprint.
With more than 10,900 stores across 19 countries, the retailer is leveraging its scale to build a more connected, accessible healthcare offering that integrates digital services with in-person care.
