The Fresh Market partners with Feeding America for fundraising campaign

The Fresh Market is partnering with Feeding America for a fundraising campaign during September’s Hunger Action Month, aimed at combating food insecurity across the United States.

The specialty food retailer will offer customers the option to round up their purchase total to the nearest dollar or make a donation of their choice at the register in each of its 172 stores.

According to the grocer, every dollar contributed will provide at least ten meals to people in need, with 90 per cent of the funds raised at each location directed to local Feeding America partner food banks based on the store’s zip code.

The remaining 10 per cent will support Feeding America’s national activities. Brian Johnson, CEO of The Fresh Market, emphasised that this partnership enables guests to easily help address hunger in their communities.

This builds on the success of last year’s initiative saw The Fresh Market raise more than $155,000, and the retailer aims to exceed that figure.

Brian Johnson, CEO of The Fresh Market said: “Our partnership with Feeding America gives our guests an easy way to help fight hunger in the communities we serve.

“We are honored to stand alongside Feeding America and our guests in creating a stronger, healthier future for families across the country.”

Hunger Action Month, led annually by Feeding America, seeks to raise awareness about the challenges of food insecurity affecting Americans amid rising food costs and strained household budgets.

Beyond the fundraising drive this September, The Fresh Market continues its commitment to fighting food insecurity by regularly donating unsold food to local Feeding America partner food banks.

This ongoing collaboration reinforces the retailer’s role in supporting community food security through both customer engagement and operational practices.
