Shipt launches AI shopping assistant

Delivery platform Shipt has launched a new AI-powered shopping assistant, which is designed to help customers during the buying process.

The new feature is available on the application and website, which allows shoppers to describe what they’re looking for to build a customized cart in seconds.

According to the business, the new technology allows shoppers to plan events with one prompt and add items to the cart automatically.

Additionally, the feature can be used to assist during budgeting and can upload a photo, which will automatically identify and add all the ingredients to a cart.

Katie Stratton, chief growth & strategy officer at Shipt said: “At Shipt, we’re focused on making shopping feel more personalized, intuitive, and helpful to families with their day-to-day lives.

“Ask Shipt brings people-centric AI directly into the shopping journey, helping members move from inspiration to a personalized cart in moments.

“Whether they’re planning family meals, preparing for a celebration, or tackling everyday errands, shoppers can discover the products they need across Shipt’s marketplace of more than 100 retailer partners with greater ease and confidence.”

The feature is now live for customers to use and can be accessed through the Ask Shipt feature under the search bar to begin.

This follows a current trend of delivery platforms boosting their technology offerings with artificial intelligence features, with Instacart recently unveiling a new AI shopping tool.
