Home Depot has announced the nationwide in-store launch of its AI-powered shopping assistant, Magic Apron, which was designed to help customers and employees with navigation.
According to the business, the AI-powered tool is currently answering millions of questions per month, which enables customers to locate products and receive guidance.
The Magic Apron application was designed to complement the existing expertise of Home Depot’s staff by helping customers whenever they need it while shopping in store.
Jordan Broggi, EVP of Interconnected Retail said: “Customers come to The Home Depot for expert guidance, and we know they want their shopping experience to be easy and efficient.
“Magic Apron takes the best of our digital expertise and brings it into the physical store, creating a more connected shopping experience that helps customers find products, get project guidance, and make decisions faster.
“Our associates remain at the center of the shopping experience, and Magic Apron gives customers another way to access guidance and support while they’re in our stores.”
This Magic Apron extension builds on the company’s Store Mode feature, which was first launched in 2022 and aids consumers in shopping more efficiently with barcode scanning. The store mode assists shoppers in store with real-time information and product wayfinding.
Customers will be able to get expert guidance on their home improvement projects, seek answers in their preferred language, and access the map for their chosen store.
The application is now available in over 2,000 stores, which can be opened in a mobile app or scanned through a QR code.
