Best Buy and IKEA are expanding their partnership with new consultation spaces inside two IKEA stores in the U.S.
The retailers have opened dedicated planning areas at Ikea locations in Frisco, Texas, and Tampa, Florida, where shoppers can access Best Buy appliance and technology services while designing kitchens, laundry rooms and storage spaces.
Best Buy employees, known internally as Blue Shirts, are stationed inside the Ikea planning areas to advise customers on appliances and connected home products.
Staff can also place orders and coordinate delivery and installation services directly from the Ikea locations.
The rollout builds on an existing shop-in-shop partnership launched last year, which brought Ikea kitchen and storage planning services into select Best Buy stores.
Those IKEA at Best Buy concepts, each spanning roughly 1,000 square feet, were first piloted across 10 locations in 2025.
“By bringing together our home furnishing expertise, products, and services with Best Buy’s leadership in appliances and technology, we’re creating a one-stop destination where customers can design their dream kitchen, storage solutions or laundry space with ease,” said Rob Olson in a previous statement announcing the partnership.
The expanded collaboration comes as IKEA continues reshaping its U.S. footprint.
The retailer plans to open 10 new locations in 2026, including its first city-centre store in Los Angeles and its first Oklahoma location, while also closing its Memphis, Tennessee, store following a broader review of its fleet strategy.
Meanwhile, leadership changes are also underway at Best Buy. Corie Barry announced in April that she will step down as CEO on Oct. 31 after several years of flat revenue and earnings growth.
She will be succeeded by Jason Bonfig, a longtime company executive currently serving as chief customer, product and fulfillment officer.
