Bed Bath & Beyond subsidiary to close Tennessee office, cut 88 jobs

The Brand House Collective, a subsidiary of Bed Bath & Beyond, is permanently closing its Brentwood, Tennessee office, impacting 88 employees as the company continues integrating recent acquisitions and restructuring operations.

According to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification filing submitted to the state on May 1, the office at 5310 Maryland Way will close between July 4 and Sept. 30.

The site had previously been listed in SEC filings as the principal executive office for The Brand House Collective, formerly known as Kirkland’s Home.

Neither The Brand House Collective nor Bed Bath & Beyond immediately responded to requests for comment.

The closure follows the formal merger of The Brand House Collective with Bed Bath & Beyond in April, capping more than a year of expanding ties between the two businesses.

Former Kirkland’s Home executive Amy Sullivan was recently named president of Bed Bath & Beyond, overseeing brands including Overstock, Bed Bath & Beyond, The Container Store, Kirkland’s and BuyBuy Baby.

The company has accelerated its acquisition strategy in recent months, including deals to acquire The Container Store for roughly $150 million and the parent company of Cabinets To Go for a similar amount.

On an earnings call in April, Bed Bath & Beyond CEO Marcus Lemonis said the company’s adoption of AI technology would result in significant workforce reductions.

Financial filings also showed continued pressure on The Brand House Collective’s business. Net sales for the period ended Jan. 31 fell nearly 10% year over year to $395.8 million, while operating losses widened 183% to roughly $39.7 million. Net losses nearly doubled to $45.9 million.
