Dick’s Sporting Goods is teaming up with Uber Eats to offer delivery for its sporting gear and apparel from around 800 Dick’s Sporting Goods and Gold Galaxy stores across the US.
The new partnership comes ahead of Father’s Day weekend and aims to enhance the customer experience by making products more accessible.
Scott Casciato, VP of Omni-channel Fulfillment & Strategy at Dicks’s Sporting Goods said: “We believe that speed and convenience are key to our omnichannel experience, and we’re excited to launch our partnership with Uber Eats as an extension of that philosophy.
“When those moments arise where new gear is needed, this partnership with Uber Eats extends our capabilities to give our athletes convenient shopping to get the products they need fast and in a way that is convenient for them.”
The sporting goods retailers’ collection of sportswear, footwear, and sporting gear will be available on the online platform.
Hashim Amin, Head of Retail for North America added: “As people head outdoors this season, we’re excited to bring Dick’S Sporting Goods’ trusted selection right to their doorstep via the Uber Eats app.”
The announcement comes on the heels of a $2.5 billion acquisition of Foot Locker, which is set to be completed subject to terms and conditions.
Meanwhile, Uber Eats has been leveraging partnerships with retailers across America, recently offering delivery services for discount retailer Family Dollar.
Additionally, the e-commerce delivery platform partnered with Petco and Sally Beauty to offer product delivery across America.
