Ikea is continuing its expansion in Texas, introducing three smaller-format locations across the state.
The Swedish retailer is set to open a ‘city store’ at The Shops at Park Lane in Dallas, marking its first of these new, more compact locations in the area.
The store, which is set to open in late 2025, will feature around 3,200 products, including food, for immediate purchase.
Additionally, customers can place online orders for the full product range, with free store pick-up or affordable home delivery options available.
Alongside the Dallas site, Ikea is also planning two other smaller-format stores in Texas.
One will be located in San Marcos at San Mar Plaza, opening this spring, with a 35,000 sq ft layout.
The second will be in Rockwall, with plans to open in December 2025.
The new format is designed to offer customers an opportunity to discover home furnishings, order products and learn more about the company’s offerings in a more accessible, urban setting.
“The opening of Ikea Dallas-University Park is a perfect example of our strategy to develop smaller, more accessible urban store formats, bringing a more connected and accessible Ikea experience to everyone,” said Javier Quiñones, CEO and chief sustainability officer at Ikea US.
Ikea currently operates five full-size stores in Texas, in addition to three ‘plan and order points with pick-up’ locations across the state.
The new smaller-format stores are part of the company’s broader strategy to reach more customers in urban areas, making it easier for people to access its products and services.
