Home Depot names company veteran new EVP of Pro

Home improvement retailer Home Depot has appointed former president of Home Depot Canada Michael Rowe as its new EVP of Pro to lead the company’s professional customer growth strategy.

Pro is Home Depot’s loyalty program for contractors and professionals in the construction industry.

Rowe brings decades of experience to the role, having served in multiple leadership positions at Home Depot Canada for 19 years.

His previous roles included vice president of online marketing and contractor services, where he managed strategies for Pro customers, leading to outsized growth in that market.

In the new role, he will spearhead initiatives to expand business with professional customers.

Additionally, he will oversee the expansion of delivery capabilities, sales force development, technology, and CRM tools.

Ted Decker, Home Depot’s CEO and president, said: “We are uniquely positioned to win as we build out our Pro ecosystem, investing in capabilities to grow share of wallet with Pros no matter how they choose to shop with us.

“As the head of our Canadian business, Mike led an unprecedented period of growth and expansion across the country and was instrumental in building our Pro business in Canada.

“His vision and operational expertise make him an ideal fit to lead our Pro business through its next phase of growth, alongside our talented Pro organization.”

The company also promoted Stephanie Smith to EVP of human resources following Tim Hourigan’s retirement on June 6.

The new appointments follow the company’s initiatives to strengthen its Pro business.

In its most recent financial quarter, Q4, 2024 Home Depot reported strong earnings and will open 13 new stores in 2025.
