Costco Wholesale has opened a new Business Center in East Gwillimbury, Ontario, expanding a format designed specifically to serve restaurants, retailers, offices, and other business customers.
The 137,000-sq.-ft. site marks the company’s 10th Business Center in Canada and is a conversion of a traditional warehouse that was recently relocated.
The opening is part of a broader national expansion plan, with more Business Center locations slated for Canada.
Costco operates about 25 Business Centers in the U.S. and is reportedly preparing to scale the format further there as well.
Open to all Costco members, the Business Center model differs sharply from a standard warehouse: more than 70% of its assortment is unique, with roughly 3,000 items tailored to business needs.
The offer spans bulk groceries, commercial kitchen equipment, cleaning supplies, office furnishings, coffee essentials, and more. The site also includes a 12-pump gas station.
The facility features a nearly 9,500-sq.-ft. cooler, a dedicated indoor loading area, and a fleet of eight delivery trucksproviding next-day delivery across a designated regional zone.
Costco now operates 931 warehouses worldwide, including 114 in Canada.
