Amazon announced plans to recruit nearly 250,000 people for full-time, part-time, and seasonal job opportunities across the US.
The company will begin weekly hiring postings from October through December, aiming to meet seasonal demand while expanding its workforce in rural areas.
The roles cover a range of positions at fulfillment centers, delivery stations, and customer service, aligned with Amazon’s typical hiring surge during the holiday period.
Amazon stated that the average starting pay for regular, full-time employees is $23 per hour, while seasonal workers earn an average of $19 per hour.
In addition to competitive pay, Amazon confirmed that it offers benefits including health insurance, 401(k) plans, paid time off, and parental leave to full-time employees.
The e-commerce platform has a plan to recruit within rural areas to create more job opportunities outside city areas.
The business stated that these efforts form part of its broader goal to support communities and create diverse employment options.
The new job postings will roll out weekly for three months, from early October through the end of December.
Amazon typically leverages this period to scale operations in line with holiday demand, and the announcement outlines an intention to maintain flexibility between full-time and seasonal hiring based on business needs.
This comes after the retailer expanded its employee benefits by offering discounts and a raise for all its staff members.
Last week there were also reports that Amazon will allegedly layoff around 1,000 employees to streamline operations.
