Target is set to expand its US footprint with the opening of seven new stores in October, continuing its strategy of blending full-size formats with small-format locations tailored to local communities.
The new openings span five states and include a mix of suburban and urban areas. Here’s where the new stores will launch:
New Target store locations opening in October:
-
Newport, Kentucky
-
Washington, D.C.
-
Hayward, California
-
Santa Barbara, California
-
Huntsville, Alabama
-
University Place, Washington
-
Kihei, Hawaii (Target’s 9th location in the state)
These openings align with Target’s broader expansion strategy for 2025, which includes opening about 20 new stores and remodelling approximately 175 existing locations.
Target’s new stores will continue to focus on convenience, local relevance, and same-day services like Drive Up, Order Pickup, and returns. The company also plans to continue expanding its same-day delivery through Shipt and investing in fulfilment technologies to support its growing omnichannel business.
Each of the new stores will reflect Target’s commitment to sustainability, community engagement, and a more localised merchandising approach, ensuring product assortments reflect the preferences of nearby shoppers.
