Nordstrom set to open new San Francisco store

Nordstrom has announced plans to expand its retail footprint with the launch of a Nordstrom Rack store in San Francisco.

The new location will open next year in fall and will be located at 2 Stockton Street, San Francisco, CA 94108.

The fashion retailer’s 51,500 sq.ft store will be owned and managed by Invesco Real Estate and is within the Union Square neighborhood.

Nordstrom Rack is the brand’s off-price retail segment, which offers shoppers discounts of up to 70 per cent on apparel, accessories, beauty products, home décor, and shoes from many brands.

Additionally, there will be various services, including online order pickup, easy returns, and alterations at selected stores.

This marks an expansion in the company’s footprint and its economic activity in the Sam Francisco area.

Erik Nordstrom, co-CEO of Nordstrom said: “Nordstrom has a long history in San Francisco, and we’re excited to bring Nordstrom Rack back downtown.

“The city has many wonderful assets, and it has clearly built momentum in making downtown a great place for customers. We look forward to welcoming new and returning Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack customers to our store.”

This move builds on the brand’s existing presence in the area with a Local Fillmore location that was opened last October.

Gemma Lionello, president of Nordstrom Rack added: “We look forward to bringing Nordstrom Rack to downtown San Francisco and serving our customers with an amazing offering of great brands at great prices.

“Customers will be able to take advantage of our convenient services such as online order pickup from both Nordstrom, and they can make returns easily.”

The business currently runs 21 Nordstrom stores, 70 Nordstrom Rack locations, and six Nordstrom Locals in California.
