TJX appoints Steven Pintoff to board of directors

TJX Companies announced on that its board of directors elected Steven Pintoff to serve as a director, effective immediately.

Pintoff currently holds the position of EVP and chief administrative officer at United Rentals. In this capacity, he leads the company’s human resources, legal, safety, and environmental functions.

He also provides strategic oversight of the United Rentals charitable foundation.

Pintoff joined United Rentals in 2003 and has held various leadership roles within the company during his tenure.

According to TJX, Pintoff’s experience extends across human capital and organizational management, risk and compliance, international operations, information technology, and strategic planning.

The company’s announcement noted these areas as key elements of his professional background relevant to his new role on the TJX Board.



The addition of Mr. Pintoff to TJX’s Board reflects the company’s focus on strengthening its governance with expertise in diverse functional areas including compliance and international business.

The board’s decision to install him immediately follows the standard procedure for director appointments.

This appointment comes as the business continues to build its leadership team to support its retail operations and corporate objectives. TJX Companies operates as a major retailer with a global presence.
