Amazon is rolling out same-day prescription delivery and new healthcare offerings across the greater Chicago area, enhancing access for both urban and rural customers.
The company’s Amazon Pharmacy now provides same-day delivery to nearly 200 small towns surrounding Chicago. Launched in 2020, the online pharmacy delivers prescription medications to customers’ doors across all 50 states and Washington, D.C.
The expansion follows Amazon’s $4 billion investment announced earlier this year to boost delivery speeds in rural areas nationwide.
Alongside faster medication delivery, Amazon is broadening its One Medical healthcare services in the region.
Patients can now book specialised perimenopause and menopause consultations, as well as pay-per-visit care for children aged 2–11, at eight One Medical primary care offices in Chicago.
The ecommerce giant acquired One Medical in 2023 for $3.9 billion, later rebranding its virtual care platform to Amazon One Medical in 2024, offering both subscription and pay-per-visit options.
