Schnucks teams up with DoorDash for delivery, adds SNAP/EBT payments

Schnuck Markets, a family-owned supermarket chain with over 100 stores, has partnered with DoorDash to offer on-demand delivery services.

This collaboration also enables customers to use SNAP/EBT benefits when ordering through the DoorDash Marketplace, enhancing the shopping experience for those relying on government assistance.

Chace MacMullan, senior director of digital experience at Schnucks, commented: “Our new partnership with DoorDash helps us reach our customers where and when it’s most convenient for them.

“Being able to accept SNAP/EBT benefits as a part of DoorDash orders helps bring our shoppers fresh, affordable food on demand.”

Mike Goldblatt, VP of grocery and retail partnerships at DoorDash, emphasized the importance of expanding food access, adding: “Through online grocery delivery, we’re proud to further food access to SNAP beneficiaries to stock up on meats, essentials, and produce to feed their families while discovering the best local businesses in their neighborhoods.”

This new delivery option complements Schnucks’ existing partnership with Instacart.

In July 2023, the chain launched Instacart’s Caper Carts, enabling customers to easily check out with their shopping carts.

Additionally, in July 2024, Schnucks integrated Instacart’s Carrot Tops software with its electronic shelf labels (ESLs), enhancing in-store picking efficiency.
