DoorDash is expanding its payment options by integrating Klarna’s payment services, providing customers with greater choice at checkout.
The partnership with Klarna, a global AI-driven payments and commerce network, will allow users to access Klarna’s payment solutions when purchasing from DoorDash’s retail partners or signing up for its DashPass annual subscription.
The new options will be available on both the DoorDash website and mobile app in the coming months.
“As we expand DoorDash’s offerings—from groceries and beauty to electronics and gifts—flexible payment options are essential to meeting our customers’ needs,” said Anand Subbarayan, head of money products at DoorDash.
At checkout, Klarna will be listed as a payment method, enabling customers to choose how they want to pay.
The available options will include paying in full upfront, spreading payments over four interest-free installments, or deferring payment to a later date, such as aligning with a paycheck cycle.
“Our partnership with DoorDash marks an important milestone in Klarna’s expansion into everyday spending categories,” added David Sykes, chief commercial officer of Klarna.
Beyond Klarna, DoorDash already offers alternative payment solutions, including cash-on-delivery for select first-party orders fulfilled through its DoorDash Drive platform.
Customers ordering through DoorDash’s Storefront online system or its Bbot table-ordering technology can also use gift cards via an integration with Paytronix.
The news follows Klarna’s recent agreement with Walmart, where it secured an exclusive buy now, pay later deal for the retailer’s OnePay program.
