Nike and Skims join forces to launch new women’s sportswear brand

Nike and Skims have announced a new collaboration, unveiling NikeSkims, a brand designed to merge performance sportswear with style.

The collection, featuring training apparel, footwear, and accessories, will debut in select US stores and on Nike’s website this spring before expanding globally next year.

The partnership marks a strategic move for Nike as it continues to strengthen its connection with female consumers.

The sportswear giant has made significant efforts in recent years to refine its women’s product lines, from enhancing sneaker offerings to streamlining activewear collections.

With Skims, Nike is tapping into the influence of Kim Kardashian, whose shapewear brand has gained a monumental following since its launch in 2019.

Kardashian, co-founder and chief creative officer of Skims, said: “Nike and Skims share a deep commitment to innovation, inclusivity and pushing boundaries, driven by an unwavering belief in the power of women.

“This partnership is the culmination of that shared vision, delivering product that is meticulously designed to sculpt and perform for every body. Every single detail has been obsessed over and carefully considered.”

Nike executives echoed the enthusiasm, highlighting the opportunity to reshape the industry’s approach to women’s sportswear.

“No footwear or apparel brand delivers the level of support Nike provides to women’s sport and movement,” added Amy Montagne, vice president and general manager of Nike Women’s.

“With NikeSkims, we’re deepening our support for women, listening to athletes and creating products that combine strength and style,” said Amy Montagne, vice president and general manager of Nike Women’s.”

Skims has steadily expanded its presence beyond shapewear, including partnerships with the NBA and WNBA and the launch of menswear in 2022.

The collaboration with Nike signals its continued push into the athletic market, bringing its signature sculpting designs to a broader audience.
