Carhartt adopts AI platform to unify global supply chain planning

Carhartt is overhauling how it manages production and inventory worldwide, adopting Relex Solutions’ AI-driven planning platform to streamline operations and improve service levels.

The workwear brand, which sells through multiple markets and channels, faces the challenge of forecasting demand across regions with different seasonal needs and product mixes.

By replacing older systems and spreadsheets, Carhartt aims to gain greater visibility and control of its global supply network.

The new technology will automate production planning, generating accurate proposals for manufacturing sites to balance stock levels with customer demand.

“The Relex AI-driven platform will give us the visibility and agility we need to optimize our global production operations while maintaining the quality and reliability our customers expect,” said Fred Esseily, Carhartt’s VP of global production.

“This unified approach will help us deliver the right products to our customers more efficiently than ever before.”

Carhartt also expects the platform to strengthen collaboration across demand planning, production, and supply chain teams, enabling quicker responses to shifting market conditions.

Relex executives said the partnership will reinforce Carhartt’s reputation for durability and quality. John Williamson, VP of North America manufacturing at Relex Solutions added: “We’re honored to support Carhartt, an iconic brand that has stood the test of time.

“Relex will help streamline their end-to-end operations, supporting continued quality and efficiency.”

Headquartered in Dearborn, Michigan, the family-owned company was founded in 1889 and employs more than 3,000 people worldwide.
