Kirkland’s bolsters leadership team ahead of rebrand to The Brand House Collective

Kirkland’s Inc. is strengthening its executive bench as it prepares to rebrand as The Brand House Collective, Inc., pending shareholder approval at its July 24 annual meeting.

The changes come as the home décor retailer accelerates plans for store conversions and an “operational reset” across its portfolio.

The company currently operates 313 stores in 35 states, but plans to consolidate to around 290 locations to support its multi-brand strategy, which includes Kirkland’s Home, Bed Bath & Beyond Home, and Overstock-branded stores.

Key leadership changes

  • Andrea Courtois will take over as senior VP and CFO on July 21, replacing Mike Madden, who will remain in an advisory role until August 15. Madden has spent more than two decades with the company and served as both CFO and, previously, CEO. Courtois brings over 20 years of financial leadership experience, most recently serving as VP of FP&A at Francesca’s, with prior roles at La Senza, Lane Bryant, and Lands’ End.

  • Michael Sheridan was appointed senior VP, general counsel & corporate secretary as of June 30. He will oversee legal, talent, and corporate governance functions. Sheridan had been serving in an interim capacity and previously held leadership roles at Community Brands, Ceridian, and Comdata.

  • Mandy Gauldin has been promoted to VP of talent & culture, having spent the past eight years in Kirkland’s HR leadership. She previously held roles at California Closets and Estée Lauder.

“These leadership announcements reflect continued momentum in advancing our transformation,” said Amy Sullivan, CEO of Kirkland’s Inc. “As we evolve into The Brand House Collective, we’re raising expectations and building an organization that delivers results brand by brand.”

Sullivan said the company is focused on building a performance-led, multi-brand model with a leadership team that brings both “fresh perspectives and deep expertise.”
