Walmart is expanding its restaurant delivery business through a collaboration with Inspire Brands, which is a company whose portfolio includes Dunkin.
The new move will allow shoppers to receive Dunkin orders in a fast, affordable way alongside their Walmart orders.
This builds on the department store’s entry into restaurant delivery earlier this summer, and the business has continued to expand the restaurants available through its app.
Dunkin’ is set to initially begin through its 150 in-store tenant locations, with plans to expand to the majority of its 10,000 locations outside of Walmart stores nationwide.
Additionally, Walmart plans to create a stronger delivery ecosystem, which simplifies the process of restaurant beverages and meals delivered alongside Walmart orders.
Greg Cathey, SVP, e-commerce fulfillment transformation at Walmart said: The future of retail is about meeting customers wherever they are and simplifying their lives.
“Walmart is built to support real life, and together with Dunkin’, we’re enabling customers to order their beverages, donuts, or sandwiches alongside their paper towels, milk, and household essentials—all through a delivery experience they already know and love.”
This is part of the retailer’s long-term business strategy to offer multiple services for consumers that can increase convenience.
The business is confident in its ability to scale the delivery capability, with an established ultra-fast delivery network and an expansive presence across the US.
Eligible customers will automatically see Dunkin’ as an option in the restaurants section on the Walmart application based on their address.
