Love’s Travel Stops is committing $700 million in 2026 toward new store development and renovations as part of its long-term “Road Ahead Plan” growth strategy.
The company, which operates 668 locations across 42 states, aims to have more than half its network newly built or remodeled by 2035. In 2026 specifically, Love’s plans to:
-
Open 20 new locations
-
Remodel 35 existing sites
-
Add 1,500 truck parking spaces, bringing the total to more than 52,000 by year-end
-
Open two new truck care locations and four truck washes
To accelerate remodel timelines, Love’s will temporarily close stores undergoing renovation while continuing to provide core services, including fuel, restrooms and limited food and beverage, via mobile facilities.
Love’s is expanding its RV footprint with 23 new RV Stops in 2026, adding 150 hookups. Following these additions, its RV network will exceed 140 locations and 2,000 hookups nationwide.
The retailer will also begin selling RV tires and batteries this spring at 79 locations equipped with truck care services and RV hookups.
Through Love’s Alternative Energy (LAE), the rebranded Trillium Energy Solutions, the company will continue investing in EV charging, hydrogen and compressed natural gas (CNG) infrastructure.
It plans to also instal 100 new EV charging stalls via the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) grants program and deploying fast chargers at approximately 150 locations over the next several years
According to President Shane Wharton, the 2026 investment strategy centers on enhancing customer experience across segments, professional drivers, RV travelers and everyday motorists, while reinforcing brand equity through updated technology, loyalty initiatives and expanded food and convenience offerings.
The scale and scope of the investment signal a dual strategy: expanding physical footprint while modernizing legacy locations, positioning Love’s to compete in both traditional fuel retail and emerging alternative energy markets.
