Puma’s CCO announces departure

Puma’s chief commercial officer Matthias Baeumer has announced his exit from the management board effective on 30 September due to personal reasons.

The business is yet to disclose his successor in the future. Following his departure, Puma’s CEO Arthur Hoeld will oversee the company’s sales organization and subsidiaries.

Baeumer joined the fashion brand in 2007 and served across various leadership positions during his almost 20-year tenure.

His first role at the company was as sales director for Puma Germany, Benelux and was promoted to general manager for the Germany, Austria, and Switzerland region.

Prior to beginning the position as CCO, he was in charge of Puma’s global business unit Teamsport.

Before joining the major fashion retailer, Baeumer worked for several companies in the consumer goods and automotive industries.

The company’s board will now consist of Arthur Hoeld (CEO), Mark Langer (CFO), Maria Valdes (Chief Brand Officer), and Andreas Hubert (Chief Operating Officer) from 1 October 2026 until an official successor has been appointed.

Puma’s CEO Arthur Hoeld said: “I would like to thank Matthias for his commitment to the brand in his various roles and for his contribution to the measures as part of our 3-year transformation journey.

“I am very happy that he agreed to continue to support us as a consultant. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”

Héloïse Temple-Boyer, chair of the supervisory board, added: “On behalf of the Supervisory Board, I would like to thank Matthias for his dedication, passion and leadership.

“With his strong commercial experience, he celebrated many successes during his time at PUMA. We wish him all the best for his future.”
