Uniqlo is preparing a major US expansion in 2026, with plans to open 11 new stores across several major cities, including its first flagship locations in Chicago and San Francisco.
The Japanese apparel retailer, part of Fast Retailing Co., will also add four new stores in New York City and additional locations in Boston, Seattle, Maryland, and Washington D.C.
The openings, set for next spring and summer, mark a significant milestone as Uniqlo celebrates the 20th anniversary of its SoHo flagship, the company’s first global flagship outside Japan.
“Celebrating 20 years in New York City is deeply meaningful for us, and 2026 marks an exciting next chapter for Uniqlo in the US,” said Fuminori Adachi, CEO of Uniqlo USA.
“Our strategy is about thoughtful growth – opening the right stores in the right places – while ensuring every location reflects our customers’ voices and delivers a meaningful, high-quality experience.”
Each new store will feature Uniqlo’s signature offerings, including RFID self-checkout, alterations, and RE.UNIQLO donation bins.
Select locations will also include RE.UNIQLO Studios for embroidery and repair, and UTme! customisation stations for T-shirts and tote bags.
Founded in Hiroshima in 1984, Uniqlo now operates more than 2,500 stores globally, including 78 in the United States.
