UK-based athletic apparel retailer JD Sports has opened a 29,000-square-foot flagship store in Las Vegas as it grows its retail footprint in the US.
The sportswear retailer also has stores on State Street, Chicago, and Times Square, New York.
John Hall, managing director for JD North America, said: “Las Vegas is known for delivering next-level experiences, making it the perfect location for JD’s next US flagship.
“We’re bringing our customers a retail experience that can’t be found anywhere else in the market, serving up the freshest and most desirable products from the biggest names in sports fashion.”
The new store will offer exclusive apparel collections from major sportswear retailers, including Nike, Jordan, New Balance, Adidas, On, and Asics.
JD Sports has deployed slide technology to direct stock delivery, QR code scanning, mobile checkout options, and online pickups.
The news comes on the heels of a successful fiscal year for the sportswear retailer, recently seeing its revenue go up by 10.2% to around $15.4 billion.
The move is part of the foreign sportswear retailer’s strategy to invest in one of its strongest markets, the US, with 37% of the revenue coming from North America.
In May the retailer leveraged AI tools to enhance its supply chain planning and operations.
