IKEA has officially opened its new Beaverton store at Progress Ridge on June 4, offering a more accessible and flexible shopping experience for customers in the Portland metro area.
Located at the Progress Ridge Townsquare Center, this marks IKEA’s second location in the region.
Unlike the retailer’s traditional warehouse-style stores, IKEA Beaverton is a “Plan & order point with Pick-up” format.
This new concept allows customers to work directly with IKEA staff to plan more complex home furnishing projects, such as kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms.
While shoppers can’t take products home the same day, they can arrange for delivery or schedule pickup from an on-site collection point.
“We are thrilled to offer Portland metro area residents more ways to shop and experience IKEA,” said Javier Quiñones, CEO & chief sustainability officer of IKEA US.
“This new location underscores our commitment to making IKEA more accessible and affordable.”
The opening is part of IKEA US’s broader expansion strategy, which includes launching smaller-format stores across the country to complement its traditional locations and growing e-commerce platform.
Online customers can also choose IKEA Beaverton as a pickup location when placing orders through IKEA-usa.com.
“This is just one of the many ways we’re growing our business and reaching more of our customers,” said Paul Mansfield, IKEA Portland market manager.
“Come on in and plan your dream kitchen or pick up your online order—our team is ready to say Hej.”
IKEA has also invested in improved services like Click & collect, reduced delivery fees, IKEA Family benefits, and TaskRabbit assembly to make shopping more convenient than ever.
