Wayfair is set to strengthen its physical retail presence with a major store opening in Atlanta.
The online home goods retailer has secured a 150,000 sq ft space at The District at Howell Mill shopping center, with doors expected to open in 2026.
The new location will serve as a comprehensive destination for furniture, home decor, appliances, and housewares, catering to a wide range of budgets and styles.
The move is part of Wayfair’s broader push into brick-and-mortar retail, a strategy that also includes the upcoming launch of the first-ever Perigold store in Houston this spring.
This will be Wayfair’s second large-format store, following the May 2024 debut of its first in Wilmette, Illinois.
The Wilmette store has exceeded expectations, driving Illinois sales growth at a rate 15% higher than the national average, according to the Boston-based retailer.
“The excitement around our first store in Wilmette exceeded expectations – from packed shopping carts in-store, to bus tours from neighboring states,” said Liza Lefkowski, VP of merchandising and stores at Wayfair.
“It’s been incredible to see the enthusiasm for Wayfair in person and we can’t wait to bring that same energy to Atlanta.”
The Atlanta store will integrate the convenience of online shopping with an in-store experience, allowing customers to take home many items the same day.
Its location near Wayfair’s McDonough, Ga fulfillment center will also enable swift delivery of larger purchases.
Wayfair, which owns brands including AllModern, Perigold, and Joss & Main, reported $11.9 billion in net revenue for 2024.
