Furniture retailer Herman Miller has opened a new store in Fairfax, Virginia, a suburb of Washington, DC.
The new location in Fairfax’s Mosaic District offers the brand’s collection of tables, chairs, and office and home furniture.
Additionally, the 2000 sq. ft. site will offer shoppers complimentary design services and personalized assistance.
Shoppers will also be able to test the features of Herman Miller’s performance seating products, which underwent decades of research and were developed to support long-lasting health benefits, according to the company.
The new expansion on the East Coast follows the parent company’s strong earnings in Q2 2025, which ended on 30 November 2024.
The company said in a statement: “We are pleased with our second quarter performance, which was in line with our expectations and demonstrates the advantage of our collective of brands, diverse business channels, and global footprint.”
However, the retailer acknowledged the changing economic factors that impacted performance.
The company added: “Although most of our market segments continue to experience broad-based macroeconomic pressures, we are encouraged by signs of growth in several of our businesses.”
The company’s consolidated net sales increased by 2.2% to $970.4 million, while orders fell by 2.3% to $921.9 million, and earnings per share were $0.49 compared to $0.45 in the year prior.
The increase in sales was driven by the busy holiday shopping period, in particular the Black Friday season.
Herman Miller currently operates 21 stores across the US and has global stores in London and Paris.
Founded in 1905, Herman Miller operates alongside a portfolio of brands, including Design Within Reach and Knoll, under the parent company Miller Knoll.
It joins the growing list of other furniture retailers, such as Ikea, who are continuing to expand their locations across the US.
