DoorDash is broadening its autonomous delivery program to Miami while adding specialty apparel retailer Old Navy to its platform.
The on-demand delivery company is deploying emissions-free Coco Robotics sidewalk robots to fulfill DashMart orders—its convenience, grocery, and retail store network—in Miami.
The expansion follows pilots in Helsinki, Los Angeles, and Chicago and introduces grocery and everyday essentials to the types of deliveries handled by the robots.
“Through DoorDash Labs, we’re advancing autonomous solutions that help us serve even more consumers and retailers with new, innovative delivery options,” said Harrison Shih, head of product for DoorDash Labs.
“We’re thrilled to broaden our partnership with Coco Robotics to Miami, bringing the convenience of autonomous delivery to everything from weekly grocery hauls to late-night cravings through DashMart.”
The robots will also support deliveries for national grocers and retailers through DashMart Fulfillment Services, reflecting DoorDash’s broader strategy to combine human drivers, drones, and autonomous robots to meet growing demand while lowering emissions and congestion.
“These new deliveries through DashMart further strengthen our partnership with DoorDash and reflect the growing need for autonomous delivery solutions to keep up with demand across all types of goods,” said Zach Rash, CEO of Coco Robotics.
“With our expansion into a dynamic urban environment like Miami, we can bring autonomous delivery to more customers, as well as to restaurants and retailers through DashMart and beyond.”
In a separate initiative, Old Navy, part of Gap Inc., is joining the DoorDash marketplace, making its full product range available for same-day delivery through the DoorDash app.
“We like to meet customers where they are—on their terms,” said Old Navy CEO Haio Barbeito. “Partnering with DoorDash introduces same-day delivery, a whole new value proposition that helps customers save both time and money.”
DoorDash said this marks a milestone in on-demand apparel delivery, allowing tens of millions of users to order Old Navy products digitally for immediate delivery.
Old Navy operates more than 1,200 stores in North America and has franchise locations worldwide, while DoorDash operates in over 40 countries.
