The RealReal expands footprint with Massachusetts store

Online luxury resale marketplace The RealReal has expanded its brick-and-mortar footprint with the opening of its first Massachusetts store at The Street Chestnut Hill on October 15.

The new store offers The RealReal’s full-service luxury consignment experience to the Greater Boston area, which aims to make it easier for consumers to shop and buy luxury products in person.

The new 1800 sq. ft. store combines the brand’s fashion knowledge with personalized consignment services and a curated shopping experience, according to the business

The latest location is at 27 Boylston Street, Suite 205, Chestnut Hill, in Massachusetts.

Samantha McCandless, chief merchandising officer said: “Boston has been a market we’ve had our eye on for a long time. We already have a strong community of buyers and consignors here, and Chestnut Hill gives us the opportunity to meet them where they live, shop, and spend their everyday lives.

“There’s a real appreciation for quality, craftsmanship, and longevity in this market, which aligns incredibly well with how today’s luxury consumer is shopping. People aren’t simply coming to resale for value anymore—they’re coming for discovery, individuality, and access to pieces they can’t find anywhere else.”

Customers will be able to shop and discover authenticated luxury secondhand clothes across women’s and men’s fashion, handbags, fine jewelry, and watches and accessories.

Inside the store customers will find an upgraded assortment of limited-edition pieces from a range of luxury houses, including Chanel, Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Gucci, The Row, Cartier, and Rolex.

Additionally, there are new arrivals made regularly to increase its overall assortment for customers.

This comes as consumers are turning towards thrifting amid overall rising costs of living; a report from the fashion business found that the demand for vintage increased by 432 per cent since 2020.
