Dollar General has announced the retirement of the company’s executive vice president and general counsel Rhonda Taylor, effective on 6 December 2026.
Taylor is set to remain in a senior advisory role until April next year to ensure a smooth transition in leadership.
She has held various roles in the company and first joined in 2000 as an employment attorney and gradually received promotions until becoming EVP and general counsel in 2015.
During her time at the discount retailer, she managed the company’s legal teams alongside government affairs, public relations, and corporate social responsibility.
According to the business, Taylor helped to develop the company’s governance and compliance practice and build strategic partnerships with policymakers and stakeholders.
The discount retailer has appointed the current SVP, assistant general counsel for business law Kelly Collier, as Taylor’s successor effective on 7 December, 2026.
Collier has spent years working at the discount chain, first joining in 2009 as a senior attorney and having held multiple senior roles over the course of her tenure.
As part of her current position, she supports and provides legal advice to those managing the company’s operations and strategic initiatives and oversees Dollar General’s regulatory compliance.
