Meta partners with Oakley to launch AI-powered smart glasses after Ray-Ban success

Meta is expanding its wearable tech ambitions with the launch of new AI-powered smart glasses in partnership with Oakley, following the strong sales performance of its Ray-Ban Meta line.

The new Oakley Meta HSTN glasses will feature hands-free high-resolution cameras, open-ear speakers, water resistance, and built-in Meta AI.

The limited-edition glasses will be available for preorder on July 11 for $499, with additional models starting at $399 launching later this summer.

The rollout will begin in North America, Australia, and select European countries, with further expansion to Mexico, India, and the UAE planned by year-end.

Meta has teamed up once again with EssilorLuxottica, the parent of both Oakley and Ray-Ban, to deliver the glasses amid growing consumer interest in AI-driven wearables.

The Oakley Meta HSTN will make its debut at major events including Fanatics Fest and UFC International Fight Week.

The move comes as rivals like Snap and Google also ramp up their investment in smart eyewear, with Snap planning to release its new Specs glasses for consumers next year.
