Old Navy rolls out occasionwear line

Old Navy has launched a collection of special occasionwear for women in an effort to provide affordable formal wear for customers.

The collection, called ‘The Occasion’ features a range of formal dresses targeted for shoppers attending weddings, parties, and proms.

Dress prices on Old Navy’s website range from $25 to $65 and include a variety of styles and sizes.

The clothing retailer is diversifying its assortment of products amid increasing competition from online fast fashion retailers and dropping consumer sentiments in the US.

The launch of the new collection follows strong earnings for the apparel brand in the fiscal year 2024, with its net sales rising by 2% to $8.4 billion while comparable sales inched up by 3%.

Additionally, in Q4 2024, the apparel brand’s net sales fell by 3% to $2.2 billion while comparable sales increased by 3%.

Moving forward, the parent company of Old Navy, Gap Inc, plans to continue driving sales with innovative ideas and improving customer experience.

Richard Dickson, Old Navy’s CEO, said in an earnings call: “In the year ahead, Old Navy will be focused on ongoing innovation in key categories, driving big ideas with storytelling, while mobilizing an enhanced customer experience.

“Recognizing the work achieved and the metrics delivered shows the powerful position Old Navy holds in our portfolio and in our industry, and we continue to believe there is significant growth potential ahead for the brand.”

For the upcoming fiscal year, Gap Inc expects net sales to increase by between 1% and 2% to $15.1 billion.
