Target teams up with Champion for exclusive new collection

Target is rekindling its relationship with Champion, unveiling a fresh collaboration aimed at boosting its apparel sales.

The new collection, set to launch in August, will bring a contemporary twist to the iconic sportswear brand, featuring trendy activewear and sporting goods.

Most items will be priced under $40 and available both in stores and online.

With over 500 pieces, the collection will include apparel, accessories, slides, and sporting goods for adults and children.

A special limited-time line of varsity-inspired clothing for men and women will follow in September, showcased in a dedicated front-of-store section and online.

Rick Gomez, chief commercial officer and executive VP at Target, commented: “When you combine Champion’s legacy in sportswear with Target’s style authority, the result is something special.

“We know our consumers love new and differentiated items, and this partnership is all about merging sport, style and culture in a relevant way that resonates with them.”

The partnership marks a reunion for the two brands, which previously worked together on the C9 by Champion line before it was discontinued in 2020.

Champion, now owned by Authentic Brands Group after its $1.2 billion acquisition from HanesBrands in 2024, is looking to expand its retail presence through this collaboration.

The sportswear brand’s latest range for Target will feature exclusive fabrics, on-trend colours, detailed trims, and its signature logo.

Jamie Salter, CEO, chairman and founder at Authentic Brands Group, added: “As one of the most recognizable names in apparel, Champion’s presence at Target – a retailer known for its strong connection to the consumer and intentional assortment – marks a significant moment.

“This partnership underscores Champion’s enduring influence and strategic growth as we introduce the brand in a meaningful way through one of the most respected retailers in the market.”

Target continues to strengthen its brand partnerships, adding Champion to an impressive roster that includes Apple, Disney, Levi’s, Kendra Scott, and Ulta.
