Tailored Brands has appointed Whit Alexander as its new executive vice president and chief customer officer.
Starting 24 February, he will report to CEO Peter Sachse and join the menswear retailer’s executive committee.
Alexander brings extensive retail experience from leadership roles at Target and Best Buy, as well as his most recent position as a partner at McKinsey & Company, where he advised consumer businesses on growth strategies.
In his new role, Alexander will focus on strengthening customer engagement through marketing, data, and analytics to better understand consumer preferences.
His efforts will aim to enhance personalisation and build brand loyalty across Tailored Brands’ portfolio, which includes Men’s Wearhouse, Jos. A. Bank, K&G Fashion Superstore, and Moores.
Sachse expressed confidence in Alexander’s ability to drive these initiatives forward.
“His well-rounded view of retail environments and insightful approach to commercialization within omnichannel environments will help us accelerate efforts to build personalized experiences that speak to our customers and achieve new levels of brand loyalty,” he said.
Alexander’s career spans both executive leadership and consulting, with a strong background in business transformation.
At Best Buy, he oversaw strategy, marketing, personalisation, and customer loyalty, while his tenure at Target included leading guest insights, planning, and marketing intelligence.
His appointment comes as Tailored Brands continues its turnaround efforts. The company underwent significant restructuring in recent years, including a leadership shift last year when Sachse became sole CEO after previously sharing the role with Bob Hull.
Hull remains involved as executive chairman. Tailored Brands also filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2020 but successfully emerged from it within months.
