Sam’s Club launches same-day delivery for refrigerated prescriptions

Sam’s Club is expanding its pharmacy capabilities with the introduction of same-day delivery for refrigerated medications — a move aimed at improving access and convenience for members.

The Walmart-owned warehouse club said the service now includes temperature-controlled medications such as GLP-1s, insulin, antibiotics, and other specialty prescriptions.

Sam’s Club Plus members can receive these prescriptions with free same-day delivery.

In addition to the new refrigerated offering, Plus members have access to 10 commonly prescribed generic medications at no cost and more than 600 medications priced at $10 or less.

The expansion follows Walmart’s rollout of same-day delivery for refrigerated and reconstituted medications in September 2025, which made it the first US retailer to deliver temperature-sensitive prescriptions alongside groceries and household essentials in a single order.

“Our members count on Sam’s Club for both quality care and convenience, and our pharmacists are more than just healthcare providers,” said Matt Holt, vice president of healthcare operations at Sam’s Club.

“Expanding same-day delivery to include refrigerated and specialty medications shows how we’re blending innovation with trusted pharmacy service to make healthcare more accessible.”

Beyond prescription services, Sam’s Club members have access to a range of in-store health offerings, including free hearing tests, over-the-counter and prescription hearing aids professionally fitted by in-club specialists, and complimentary eyeglass adjustments at optical centres.

Based in Bentonville, Arkansas, Sam’s Club operates nearly 600 stores across the US and Puerto Rico.
