Beyond, the parent company of Bed Bath & Beyond, Overstock, and Buy Buy Baby, has made several changes to its executive team, with Marcus Lemonis stepping into a key leadership role.
Lemonis, who has served as Beyond’s executive chairman since February 2024, will now take on the additional responsibilities of principal executive officer.
He replaces Dave Nielsen, who has departed after leading the company in the role since June 2024.
Lemonis first joined Beyond’s board in October 2023 before becoming chairman later that year.
In his expanded role, Lemonis will oversee Beyond’s strategic initiatives, focusing on technology, partnerships, and brand growth.
He continues to serve as chairman and CEO of Good Sam and Camping World, a position he has held since 2003.
“The last year has been about identifying Beyond’s strategic priorities of delivering significant improvement in the key metrics of Adjusted EBITDA, gross margin and reduced fixed costs as well as unlocking the value of our blockchain investments,” Lemonis said.
“We are committed to making money and returning this business to growth and will not let any obstacles deter that goal.
“This leadership team is best suited to carry out our mandate of delivering profitable commerce.”
Beyond has also promoted Adrianne Lee to president while retaining her role as chief financial officer.
Lee, who previously served as chief financial and administrative officer, will work alongside Lemonis to accelerate profitability.
“I am honored to take on expanded responsibilities as president and CFO,” Lee added.
“Over the past year, I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with the team and know what is needed to accelerate change. I look forward to driving our strategic priorities and positioning Beyond for long-term success.
“Importantly, in the near-term, that means identifying and driving tactics to return our core commerce business back to profitability and extracting value from our blockchain investments.”
Additional leadership shifts include Leah Putnam’s promotion to chief accounting officer and Alexander Thomas taking over as chief operating officer.
