World Retail Congress to honor Target CEO Brian Cornell

Brian Cornell, CEO and chair of Target, is among the latest industry leaders to be inducted into the World Retail Congress Hall of Fame, an honor recognizing individuals who have left a lasting mark on the sector.

Cornell, who has led Target since 2014 and previously served as CEO of PepsiCo Americas Foods, will be recognized alongside three other influential figures.

These include Charlotte Tilbury, founder of Charlotte Tilbury Beauty, Demetra Pinsent, CEO of Charlotte Tilbury Beauty and Patrick Chalhoub, executive chairman of Chalhoub Group.

Acknowledging the award, Cornell credited his team for Target’s success.

“This recognition from World Retail Congress is a testament to the collective efforts of Team Target,” he said.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to lead a team who is committed to delivering on that promise and growing our business, so we can bring the magic of Target to even more people—today and for years to come.”

The four retail leaders will be inducted at a ceremony on May 14 2025, at the National Gallery in London.

“It is both an honor and a privilege to celebrate the remarkable achievements of these four retail visionaries,” added Ian McGarrigle, chairman of World Retail Congress.

“In an industry where the pace of change is relentless, their ability to act swiftly, embrace bold strategies, and implement intelligent solutions has set them apart as true leaders.”
