Amazon has announced a partnership with Uber Eats to give Prime members free delivery on restaurant orders worth $25 or more.
This collaboration allows the members of the Prime loyalty program to have benefits on a major restaurant delivery platform, which is accessible through Amazon’s website and shopping application.
The new feature is available for all Prime members, which includes Amazon’s half-price loyalty programs Prime for Young Adults and Prime Access.
According to the business, loyalty program members can now start ordering immediately with no new application, Uber account, or credentials required.
This allows shoppers with membership to gain access to thousands of restaurants that are available on the Uber Eats delivery network.
The new benefits are accessible in major cities, including Boston, Atlanta or Los Angeles.
Some of the listed restaurants include popular chains such as Wingstop, Chipotle, and Sweetgreen as well as regionally owned operators.
Jamil Ghani, worldwide VP of Amazon Prime said: “Whether it’s game night, family night, or date night, Prime’s new Uber Eats membership benefit makes getting dinner delivered even easier.
“This is what Prime is all about: unlimited free, fast delivery on a wide selection of products, big savings, fantastic entertainment, and now even more value on restaurant delivery with Uber Eats, all in a single membership.”
This move is part of a business strategy to acquire more membership subscribers by increasing the amount of benefits offered for Prime users.
Andrew Macdonald, president and COO of Uber added: “Together with Amazon, we built an experience for Prime members designed to make restaurant delivery feel as natural, convenient, and affordable as ordering anything else on Uber Eats.
“We’re excited to connect our restaurant community with new Prime fans while giving Prime members a seamless way to enjoy great food from restaurants through Uber Eats.”
