Hugo Boss’ chairman announces departure

Hugo Boss’ chairman Stephan Strum has announced plans to depart from his role on the supervisory board, effective on 15 October.

The decision comes after constructive dialogue following the recent changes in the Hugo Boss shareholder structure.

He will continue to serve as the chairman of the supervisory board of the company until a successor has been chosen. Strum is set to stay on to ensure a smooth overall handover and transition.

Sturm said: “Serving as chairman of the supervisory board of Hugo Boss has been a privilege. I have always understood my role as serving the best interests of the company and all its shareholders.

“Following the recent changes in the company’s shareholder structure, I believe that this is the right time for an orderly transition in the chairmanship.

“Hugo Boss has an experienced supervisory board, a highly committed managing board and a clear strategic direction. I am convinced that the company is well positioned for future success.”

He has been part of the luxury fashion retailer since May 2025 when he was elected to the supervisory board of Hugo Boss at the Annual General Meeting and was subsequently elected chairman of the board.

Sinan Piskin, deputy chairman of the supervisory board said: “On behalf of the supervisory board, I would like to thank Stephan Sturm for his leadership, commitment and dedication to Hugo Boss.

“We respect his decision and will work closely with him to ensure a smooth transition. The supervisory board remains fully focused on supporting the managing board in creating long-term value for all shareholders.”
