**Walmart launches Scintilla In-Store app to give supplier reps real-time store insights**
Walmart is equipping supplier field representatives with a new tool that connects supply chain data directly to the store floor.
The company introduced Scintilla In-Store, an extension of its Scintilla platform, which provides a unified view of category performance and consumer trends.
Walmart first launched the platform as Luminate in 2021 and rebranded it as Scintilla in 2025.
Scintilla In-Store combines real-time data, actionable metrics, and supplier-assigned tasks in a single app. The platform is designed to help suppliers reduce out-of-stocks, improve execution, and support a seamless omnichannel shopping experience.
The technology builds on solutions from Volt Systems, which Walmart acquired in 2022, giving field representatives enhanced on-demand visibility across stores.
Reps can now see item availability, shelf placement changes, and modular layouts in real time, enabling faster replenishment and more accurate inventory tracking during busy shopping periods.
“Scintilla In-Store is more than an upgraded app experience or a new name,” Walmart said in a corporate blog post.
“Walmart Data Ventures is building a future where every field representative is guided by real-time insights — enabling them to focus on what matters most and complete tasks with greater efficiency and speed.
With upcoming AI-driven prioritization and deeper integration across in-store systems, the company is setting a new standard for retail execution, so customers can always trust Walmart has the products they need, however they choose to shop.”
