Kohl’s is stretching Black Friday into a month-long event, blending early deals, online exclusives, and a new gamified experience aimed at boosting engagement throughout the festive season.
The US department store chain kicked off its “Black Friday Early Access” event from 7–9 November, before rolling into an extended Black Friday week running 23–29 November.
Shoppers will receive 15% off qualifying purchases during the promotion, along with $15 in Kohl’s Cash for every $50 spent.
Doorbuster deals will run both in-store and online from 27–29 November. Stores will close on Thanksgiving Day (27 November) but reopen at 5 a.m. on Black Friday. On 29 November only, customers can take an additional $10 off a $50 qualifying purchase.
As part of its seasonal campaign, Kohl’s has introduced Kohl’s Holiday Quest, a digital game offering daily prizes through to Christmas Day.
During the early access event, 250 players will win $50 in Kohl’s Cash each day, while from 23 November to 1 December, 500 daily winners will receive $100 in Kohl’s Cash.
A $100,000 grand prize will also be awarded, with total giveaways exceeding $1 million.
The retailer began its holiday discounting early this year, launching its 4-Day Cyber Deals event in October with up to 50% off across home, apparel, footwear, beauty and more.
Other holiday offerings include expanded assortments, toys starting at $4.99, a personalised online gift list, and extended returns through January.
“At Kohl’s, we’re focused on delivering unmatched value and experiences that make holiday shopping easier and more rewarding,” said Christie Raymond, Kohl’s chief marketing officer.
“With savings through our Black Friday events and engaging experiences like Kohl’s Holiday Quest, we’re helping families stretch their budgets further and find more joy in every moment of the season.”
