Costco Wholesale continued its steady sales momentum in October, with strong e-commerce growth driving another monthly gain.
Net sales for the four weeks ending November 2 rose 8.3% year-on-year to $48.33 billion.
Comparable sales increased 6.6%, while digital sales surged 16.6%.
In the U.S., comparable sales rose 6.6%, while Canada and other international markets posted gains of 6.3% and 7.2%, respectively.
Excluding fluctuations in fuel prices and foreign exchange, global comparable sales were up 6.8%, including 6.7% growth in the U.S. and 8.8% in Canada.
Costco said last year’s figures were slightly depressed, by just over 1% in the US and slightly under 1% worldwide, due to the pull-forward of sales caused by Hurricane Helene and port strikes in September.
The retailer now operates 918 warehouses worldwide, including 632 in the US and Puerto Rico, 111 in Canada, 42 in Mexico, and 37 in Japan.
Costco also runs e-commerce sites across eight markets, including the U.S., Canada, the UK, and Australia.
