U.K.-based athleticwear brand Gymshark is making its US retail debut just in time for the holiday season.
The company will open its first permanent store on Oct. 11 at Roosevelt Field shopping center in Garden City, New York, with a flagship store set to open later this year on Bond Street in Manhattan’s NoHo neighborhood.
The 4,000-plus sq. ft. Roosevelt Field location will showcase all of Gymshark’s collections and include destination zones for shorts and leggings, along with the brand’s signature mannequins, sculpted from real members of its community and ambassador roster.
The store is designed to serve as the model for future mall and shopping center locations across the US.
“To open our first permanent store in the US is a hugely significant moment for us,” said Hannah Mercer, general manager of wholesale and retail at Gymshark.
“I’m naturally delighted about opening at such a prestigious location as Roosevelt Field and the high footfall that comes with it.”
The launch follows Gymshark’s December 2024 pop-up in SoHo and its large-scale Lift: NY event at Pier 36, which drew more than 7,500 attendees.
The brand has also opened four additional core stores in the past year, including new locations in Dubai and Amsterdam, bringing its global retail footprint to six stores.
“What we’ve done here is look at the successes in them – such as staffing models, operational excellence optimization, the traffic and footfall, the destinations – and apply them to this [store],” Mercer said.
“Bringing innovative global brands to our centers is a priority, and Gymshark’s energy and community-driven approach make them an ideal fit for our shoppers,” added Zach Beloff, VP of leasing at Simon Property Group.
Founded in 2012, Gymshark now has over 20 million loyalty program members worldwide across more than 200 countries.
