Instacart has introduced a same-day delivery service aimed at streamlining urgent wholesale orders, marking its latest move to support business customers in need of fast and flexible fulfilment.
The new solution, called Will Call Delivery, is being piloted through Instacart Business and offers distributors a white-label service that enables their sales representatives to request immediate deliveries for high-priority items.
These orders are collected from the distributor’s warehouse by Instacart shoppers and delivered directly to the end customer.
“This is designed for those time-sensitive moments when, for example, a restaurant runs low on limes or chicken breasts just hours before the dinner rush,” the company explained.
As well as allowing reps to trigger warehouse pick-ups, the service also supports ordering from retailers on Instacart’s marketplace.
This helps distributors cover out-of-stock scenarios or reach customers located farther from their central facilities by leveraging nearby retail partners.
Instacart emphasises that all of its shoppers receive thorough training on food safety, including modules on hygiene, temperature-sensitive products, and proper storage and transport.
The company plans to expand the service in 2025 by partnering with more distributors and bringing Will Call Delivery to a broader segment of business users.
