Gymshark appoints first US-based chief commercial officer

Gymshark has promoted Kim Dolder to chief commercial officer, marking a key step in the fitness apparel brand’s global expansion.

Dolder, who has been Gymshark’s general manager for North America since last year, will continue to lead operations in the region while taking on her new role, based in New York City.

She replaces Niran Chana, who left the company in 2023 after nearly eight years. Dolder will now report directly to Gymshark’s CEO and founder, Ben Francis.

Before joining Gymshark, Dolder held leadership roles at Abercrombie & Fitch, Outdoor Voices, Under Armour and Target.

Her appointment aligns with the company’s broader efforts to expand its retail presence and strengthen its omnichannel strategy.

“Kim is our first Chief based in the US, so this serves as a real sign of intent of our global ambitions,” Francis said.

“Since joining, she has already added so much value to our North American operations and her experience, insight and sheer will to win will definitely take Gymshark to new heights.”

Gymshark has been reshaping its leadership team as it scales globally. Alongside Dolder’s promotion, the company recently brought in former Adidas executive Hannah Mercer as general manager of retail and wholesale, Carly Natalizia as chief digital officer, and Laurent Madeleine as chief supply chain officer.

The brand is also expanding its physical retail footprint. After testing the waters with a pop-up in New York last year, Gymshark is set to open its first permanent North American store later this year.
