Grove Collaborative reports falling revenue in Q4 2024

Household retailer Grove Collaborative reported declining sales for Q4, with revenue dropping 17.3% to $49.5 million.

Net loss rose by more than 30% to $12.6 million, while direct-to-consumer active customers fell by 25.2%.

For the full fiscal year, the company saw its revenue drop by 21.5% to $203.4 million, and net losses narrowed down by $15.8 million to $27.4 million.

Jeff Yurcisin, CEO of Grove Collaborative, said: “While sequential revenue growth may not occur every quarter going forward, we see a path to year-over-year net revenue growth in the fourth quarter of 2025, which would be another pivotal moment in our transformation.”

As a part of its financial turnaround plans, Grove Collaborative has recently acquired sustainable wellness brand 8Greens for an undisclosed amount.

Yurcisin said: “As a retailer, we at Grove are dedicated to being the destination for conscientious consumers who want the best for themselves, their families, and the planet.

“This acquisition expands our owned brand product offering and helps us better educate the Grove customer to serve their needs.”

Additionally, the company acquired Grab Green, a sustainable cleaning products brand, as part of its business strategy to expand its portfolio with companies that align with Grove’s commitment to sustainability.

Yurcisin added: “We’re also excited about our recent acquisitions of Grab Green and 8Greens, which reflect our strategic approach to deploying capital efficiently in acquisition opportunities that we expect will be accretive while also being aligned with our commitment to sustainability, innovation, and human health.”

In November 2024, Grove announced its plans to exit brick-and-mortar partnerships to focus on generating revenue through direct-to-consumer sales and bolster its ecommerce website.

For the upcoming year, the company expects revenue to decrease by mid-single-digit percentage year-over-year.
