Whole Foods opens small-format Daily Shop in Williamsburg

Whole Foods Market has expanded its small-format store concept with a new Daily Shop location in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

The 7,888-square-foot store offers produce, meat and seafood, prepared foods, supplements, personal care items and more in a scaled-down footprint.

The opening aligns with Amazon’s broader grocery strategy, which includes closing certain Amazon Go and Amazon Fresh stores and converting select locations into Whole Foods outlets.

Amazon has plans to open more than 100 new Whole Foods locations in the coming years.

Whole Foods first revealed its “quick-shop” concept in March 2024, with store sizes ranging from 7,000 to 14,000 square feet—roughly a quarter to half the size of a standard 40,000-square-foot store.

The first Daily Shop debuted in September 2024 in Manhattan’s Lenox Hill neighborhood.

As part of its community initiatives, the Williamsburg store will support local food rescue efforts through donations to City Harvest via the Nourishing Our Neighborhoods program and contributions to Trinity Human Services in New York City.
